It's almost summer and you are probably panicking because you've been laying around all winter and you have more than a few pounds to shed.
Here are a few diet plans that will help you lose those pounds quickly and keep them off.
5 Factor Diet
- The premise is simple: Eat five meals a day, for five weeks, each using only five ingredients. The meals take only five minutes to prepare and five minutes to cook. Exercise for 25 minutes per day, 5 minutes per exercise. Sundays are cheat days, when you can eat anything you want.
The meals are low on the glycemic index, which regulates insulin and helps to control hunger. A typical breakfast on the 5 Factor Diet consists of an egg white omelet. For dinner, you are allowed lean protein and vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower and spinach.
6 Week Body Makeover
- The 6 Week Body Makeover is a customized plan, tailored to your metabolism. You must first fill out a questionnaire to determine your metabolism type. On this eating plan, you will lose up to 30 pounds in 6 weeks. Exercise for about 18 minutes, twice a week. Because you are doing exercises designed for your body type, you can exercise less with maximum results.
Bikini Boot Camp
- Bikini Boot Camp promises that you can lose 4 - 10 pounds in two weeks. On this diet, you will eat lean proteins, like turkey, chicken and fish, as well as high-fiber carbohydrates and healthy fats. The plan includes a rigorous exercise routine, including 60 minutes of walking, 15 minutes of yoga, 40 minutes of circuit training, and 20 minutes of core strengthening exercises. This diet can be very time consuming but the results will be well worth it.
Brazilian Bikini Body Program
- The Brazilian Bikini Body Program is a 30 day plan that guarantees to make your body bikini ready. The Acai berry is the basis for this diet and is eaten in abundance. Grains and dairy are allowed in small portions. The exercises on this plan include capoeira, Pilates and strength training. Although you might not be ready for a bikini after only 30 days, long term use of this plan will help you burn fat and develop a lean body.
18 Pounds in 4 Days
- 18 Pounds in 4 Days is a two-part weight loss program, focusing on diet and maintaining weight loss. On this diet, you will eat mostly vegetables and small amounts of fruit and lean protein. There is no exercising during this program.
Strip the Fat
- Strip the Fat is an online diet program that claims you can lose 2 pounds a week. Participants can use the menu generator to create a customized, 14-day diet. There is no limit on the amount of foods you can eat.
The Abs Diet
- The Abs Diet was created by Men's Health Magazine Editor, David Zinczenko. The principles of this diet include eating 5 meals a day with lots of lean protein and unrefined carbs. You may have one cheat meal per week. The 7 day meal plan uses 12 "Power Foods", like almonds, spinach and olive oil. On this exercise program, you will build muscle and burn fat, resulting in an increased metabolism.
Fast Track Detox Diet
- The creator of this diet claims you can lose up to 8 pounds overnight. Before starting this plan, you wil prepare for 7 days by eating organic foods, followed by one day of fasting with a juice made of cranberry juice, lemon juice, orange juice, ginger, nutmeg and stevia. During this fasting day, you will consume one cup of this juice and one cup of water per hour. You will also take a serving of flaxseed in the morning and evening. After fasting, you will return to the organic diet for three more days.
Fruit Flush
- This is a 3 day detox plan that is based on fruit and protein powder. The first day of this diet requires you to drink 5 protein drinks and eat a salad with lean protein. On the second and third days, you will have a protein drink , fruit and a large salad. There is no exercising on this plan. The creator of this diet claims you can lose 9 pounds in 3 days, though it is likely to be water weight.
Fat Loss 4 Idiots
- Fat Loss 4 Idiots uses an online meal plan generator that allows you to customize your meal according to your preferences. The plan includes lean proteins, fruits, vegetables and starchy carbohydrates. Four meals will be eaten a day, 2 1/2 hours apart. There are no limitations on portion sizes.
It is important to remember that eating right and exercising are the best ways to lose weight. Consult a physician before starting any diet.
